Grey vote

We in Grey Vote are an action group for those who have the time and energy to continue to make a contribution. We feel that our knowledge and skills are being ignored by the parties who believe (mistakenly) that only the young should have a voice.
We on the other hand are somewhat tolerant of those that feel the country is not being governed with the decisiveness it requires and also feel that the Family seems to be bearing the brunt of taxes and demands for understanding from the Treasury. Grey Vote is a Friend of the Family in fact we will defend ours. Our Childrens Families and hopefully those of our Grandchildren.

Help bring your Grey Vote to the fore we need to be organised, join us in promoting the Grey Vote and their interests

Make yourself known

Join in  the debate from the management of local services to the mismanagment of pensions. Your vote counts only if its one of many cast with a common voice.

Join with others to amplify your voice, make yourself known and make your presence felt.

Budget 2006

Well what did the Budget do for the Council Tax payer, increased it thats what it did and whats more greater than the rate of inflation.

The situation with the council tax will not get any better until the Government have a strategy to remove some of the costs from the councils or remove some of their obligations.

Councils should resist any more obligations being laid on them from Central Government act as a body and resist, of course this is too much to ask of the officials so the Councillors that we elect should pay more attention to these creeping obligations .

The New Old

From The Times of Monday the 1st September, crash back to reality. The New Old has emerged, last year the lastest "going out" was "staying in" now the fashion fad is the new old defined as those born between 1945- 1965 still does that make them OLD. The Grey Army that was cancelled after Gordon "TAX MAD" Brown could see that funding the enemy was not the brightest idea Tony ever had.
The enemy being an articulate generation that now has time and the resouces to challenge the ideas they have argued against but couldn't change because they had a day job.
Still after reading the article I came to the conclusion that it is the end of the silly season and this was the curtain call.
