NSAI (Nashville Songwriters
Association International) now have representation in London and hold
regular meetings for songwriters, and the good news is... anyone can go!
If you're an NSAI member, you get to attend meetings for free, for
life! If you're not an NSAI member, you can go to two meetings for free, then
after that there's a nominal fee to pay.
NSAI UK meetings
are held bi-monthly at Surrey Strings Music Shop, 3 The Coles Shop, Merton Abbey
Mills, Watermill Way, London SW19 2RD (closest tube is Colliers Wood). Meetings
are usually on the last Sunday of every other month, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.The
next meeting is this coming Sunday, 28th May 2006 (bank-holiday weekend!) It's a
good idea to come early as the venue is set in a fabulous mini-Camden-Market
style setting with arts, crafts, authentic world cuisine foods, a pub, an
italian restaurant, a band-stand, an old water mill and the river running
by.
At the meetings, you can get to know fellow songwriters,
share ideas, learn some tips and tricks of the trade and maybe even get together
with another songwriter for a "co-write". For more information, please
check out the UK branch of NSAI at www.nashvillesongwriters.co.uk and sign up to the
free mailing list. More information about the head-office of the organisation in
Nashville, USA can be found at www.nashvillesongwriters.com.
